thats right the best time is to start the coding now as the new code set ICD 10 is implementing in the USA. The ICD 10 has more than 150,000 codes and ICD 9 has 15,000 codes. One need to learn all the coding once again. The requirement for the man power also increases further.

How trustworthy is the http://www.alliedhealthinstitute.edu Medical coding specialist program? It is about the only one I’ve seen that offers financial aid, so I am hoping it is a trustworthy school. They show the certifications you can take upon completing the program, but the sites they give links to don’t seem to recognize them from what I can tell.
Any help would be appreciated!!

Hello there and yes this is quite an informative site regarding the Medical coding and Billing…..Yes you have emphasized getting certification/Diploma in Medical coding and named some good institues for online training…Well, I wanted to ask is it mandatory to attend take the online course to get certified by the licensing bodies like AHIMA? Will the school provide the certifcation for Diploma courses? Can someone NOT a resident of United States of America take the course and be certified while not in United States? Can I work online for the United states Speciality institues while not in Unites States?

I hope you understand my inquiring? I want to be solid sure before I jump in to take the Diploma/Exam so I can remain eligible for practicing the skill I am gon’a acquire.

Pls also list the licensing bodies which issue the Coding Certificates for my knowledge.

I have just got my CPC May, 2009. I am a Certified Medical Assistant, with experience in physician practices since 2003. My background is in Internal Medicine, Orthopedics and Family Priactice. Where can you find a remote coding position that is entry level?
